RockCAM is an add-on that runs inside Siemens NX. It is not a standalone application: you install it alongside NX, and it adds its own menu to the NX CAM environment.
Before you install #
- Windows 7 or later, 64-bit. RockCAM does not run on 32-bit Windows.
- Siemens NX already installed on the same computer.
- An install folder whose full path contains ASCII characters only. A path with non-English characters can make the installer or NX fail.
- If the computer has both an older and a newer version of NX, that is fine. Installing two RockCAM builds on the same machine is not.
RockCAM ships as two installers. Pick the one that matches the NX version you use.

Important
Install only the build that matches your NX version. The installer for NX 1847 and newer will not give you a working add-on on an older NX.

Install #
- Unzip the archive into a folder with an ASCII-only path, for example
C:\RockCAM. - Run the installer and follow the prompts. If it asks you to choose a destination folder, keep the path ASCII-only.
- Start NX. If the RockCAM menu does not appear, close NX, then start it again by right-clicking the NX shortcut and choosing Run as administrator.

Common install-time requirements #
- The Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable, both the x64 and the x86 package, is often needed.
- RockCAM relies on the NX environment variables
PATHandUGII_BASE_DIR. If the installer or the menu misbehaves, check those two first.
If the install fails, or NX starts without the RockCAM menu, work through Installation and Startup Troubleshooting before contacting support.
